It was all

a dream.

Both south Georgia natives, Jason and Hannah relocated their family to Tennessee in 2020. For the majority of their careers, they have been in and around the food and hospitality industry. Jason is a classically trained professional chef having worked in hotels, restaurants and most recently as a private chef in Nashville. Hannah spent a lot of her career in food manufacturing, specializing in marketing and branding better-for-you packaged food products. While fresh-made peach ice cream was one of both their favorite memories growing up in the south, it wasn’t until after leaving the formal-food world and moving to work on a dairy farm in Alabama that they began to see ice cream in a whole new light. How their career paths, passion for entrepreneurship, and professional experiences led the to creation of their own brand that represents their personalities and what they feel compelled to contribute to the world… more light! Many divine things came together to build Lightbox including studying gelato in Italy, becoming “Ice Cream Certified” from Penn State University and finally a business that their whole family (3 kids + 2 dogs + 5 chickens) can sink their teeth into. Read more about how Lightbox came to life in their blog.
